Role Summary
Purpose and Responsibility of the Position:
Operates and assists in the programming of all computer numerical control machining equipment to support production demands, engineering changes and process changes.
The CNC Machinist is responsible to ensure that the Customer, People, and Investor goals are balanced and met .

Key Responsibilities
Essential Functions of the Position:

• Operate CNC Machines and Horizontal Milling Machines. This includes making programs, using 2D and 3D, all accurately and efficiently.
• Operate a variety of small machines, tools, and equipment.
• Carry out quality checks on an ongoing basis to ensure job is within tolerance.
• Provide continuous guidance to Tool & Die Associates as assigned.
• Abide by all safety and non-safety plant rules and regulations.
• Maintain stock of all machine cutters and carbide inserts.
• Maintain good housekeeping and 5S practices.
• Perform other duties as required.

Key Qualifications/Requirements
Communication Skills

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

• Essential, up to and including college level algebra, trigonometry, and geometry.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Essential, along with demonstrated problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Ability to work well with others.

Physical Demands/ Education
Physical Demands / Work Environment

• 100% Standing, Walking, and Lifting
• Work near moving mechanical parts, work in high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock and vibrations. Loud Noises. Exposure to electrical systems, presses, and motors, etc

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelors degree (BA) from four year college or university; and/or a minimum of 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Familiar with Fanuc and Fidia controls and run 3 and 5-axis machines.
• Preferred CAD experience.
• Must be able to read/interpret blueprints accurately.
• Is familiar with Fanuc and Fidia Controls and would be able to run a 5-Axis Machine.
• Good communication skills and crane training.
