PA1
– (light csr experience) 6 week training (not licensed) PA2-(more advanced tech skills) 8 week training (will get licensed during training).
This would be the State of Florida DHS license (Florida reciprocates with all other states).
DHS stands for Designated Home State Adjuster License.
After training the Claims Associate will also participate in a 4-week program of upskilling, etc.
This is a more focused learning environment before going to “full production.” Similar to a nesting period.
Roles could fall under different teams including Express (lower level claims very high volume) and/or ILR (initial loss reporting).
Within these teams could also be assigned to Auto, Fire, etc.
• Licensing – 2 weeks to plan for it, 3rd week in they add licensing training, take test to get licensed o 99% pass rate for license testing o PA2 will get licensed, not PA1 role Duties include: -Responding as the first line of defense to the customer/policy holder.
These will 90% of the time be conversations where time is of the essence for the customer and that is where the specific metrics will be in place for wrap times, hold times, transfer times.
• Taking calls from people who have just experienced an insurance claim (car accident, fender bender, etc.) this is the first time you speak with them, need to be empathetic as customers could be upset or very emotional.
• Handle a scripted convo that does not sound scripted
• Gather info in real-time even if it’s out of order from your screen
• Fire claims for home and rental properties
• Auto claims Will be maneuverings between 3-4 systems/screens pulling policy information, entering data into forms to be sent off to next level associate The main focus is on the customer (show empathy) and owning the interaction and ensure the customer has a positive experience although they may be in an emotional state.
Successful representative will create a safe zone for the customer, could review coverages with customer.
Capturing all pertinent claims information is super important.
This will require a lot of multi-tasking etc.
