Claims Assistant II

AmTrust North America

This is a Contract position in Boston, MA posted October 14, 2021.

Overview The Claim Assistant II has demonstrated knowledge all aspects of the LOB Claims support and exhibits capabilities of learning additional tasks and responsibilities.

The Claim Assistant II will provide assistance to Claim Adjusters by performing a variety of support services.

The position has some oversight by the supervisor to support the Claim Assistant II.

The Claim Assistant II maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust’s mission, vision, and values.

Upholds the standards of the AmTrust and Claims organization.

Responsibilities With some oversight from Supervisor: Performs general maintenance /data entry in the claim files.

Assists adjusters in contacting insureds or other involved persons to obtain missing or incomplete information.

Performs financial activities to include, but not limited to, issuing payments, request for stop pays, voids and check copies.

Receives and/or returns telephone calls and emails as directed by claims adjuster.

Generates letters from system/templates.

Completes state forms, other jurisdictional requirements and EDI, where applicable.

Requests file copies for various services to include, but not limited to, medical, legal, recovery and subpoena responses.

Coordinates and handles mailing requests to include, but not limited to, standard, overnights and certified/return receipts.

Submits referrals for various services.

Maintains various reports/logs.

Ensures quality and timely service is provided to all whether directly or indirectly interacting with customers.

Uses critical thinking and decision-making skills to gather, assess, analyze, question, verify, interpret and understand key or root issues.

Exhibits understanding and applies knowledge of technical processes order to deliver a quality product to stakeholders and business partners.

Performs tasks as assigned with a limited error rate.

Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers, gains their respect and trust.

Adheres to any compliance changes as directed by your supervisor.

Keeps current with market trends and demands.

Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required: High School diploma Strong knowledge of claim procedures and policies Ability to take direction and make sound business decisions Self-motivated and detail oriented Ability to adapt to a changing environment Professional telephone demeanor and strong oral and written communication skills Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment Moderate understanding of business technology and MS Office Ability to work in a team environment Preferred: Some college 2 years of experience in a claims department or related experience
