Acuity Risk Consultant
As a Claim Specialist for Acuity Risk Consultants, you will be responsible for non-complex, non-technical claim related activities within established quality, productivity and process standards on specific losses as directed by management. The individual handles a single line of claims or a combination of claims from different segments. The individual is expected to deliver compassionate service that is fast, fair, and easy, to ensure customer retention. The individual will handle every step from managing incoming calls and data entry. Clear and concise communication skills are critical to be successful in this position. Discipline, self-mo tivation, and working within a team environment are required to meet positions objectives and goals.
This position offers the potential to earn an annual discretionary bonus, determined by your success in the role and company objectives being met.
Job Requirements:
• Performs clerical duties, including data entry, filing paper documents, email, calendar management, and word processing
• Handles claim files (locates/requests files, files paperwork, reconstructs missing files, moves misfiled documents, sends to other offices, etc.)
• Assists in processing claims by receiving and entering the appropriate information from customers, as well as explaining the process of submitting a claim.
• Receives inbound calls as well as make outbound calls to policy holders and claimants
• Communicates with customers in a courteous manner
• Reviews and processes task items, calendars, mail, messages, and new claims
• Delivers a remarkable customer experience in a team environment throughout the handling of high volume/lower complexity claims, identifying and ensuring prompt routing of claims to other functional areas
• Receives and processes claim information and communicate with internal and external customers via phone and other communication channels.
• Listen and communicate clearly, professionally, and empathetically
• Work from established procedures and job aids and handle multiple computer applications while helping customers on the phone
• Educate customers on the claim process and escalate problems or inquiries as needed
• Leverages our Enterprise Claims System and other technologies and automated procedures to contribute to a high performing environment where you are engaged and focused on customers
• Maintain quality, accuracy, and professionalism in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing environment
• Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
Job Qualifications
• Education: High school diploma
• Experience: 2+ years of similar claims handling related role, knowledge, or experience
