Chief Risk Officer

National Merchants Association

This is a Full-time position in Las Vegas, NV posted December 6, 2021.

As a key member of the Executive Management team, the Chief Risk Officer will report to the CEO and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the Company.

The CRO provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper risk/underwriting controls, risk management reporting procedures, and risk systems in place to effectively grow the organizations portfolio and to ensure strength and risk/underwriting efficiency.

The position accomplishes this through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the objectives of the company.

Essential Functions

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management to a service organization that mirrors the adopted mission and core values of the company. 
  • Responsible for driving the company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all processes internal and external risk / underwriting related.
  • Provide timely, accurate and complete risk/underwriting reports.
  • Ensure all SOPs are current with market trends and regulatory changes.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the risk / underwriting systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization.
  • Motivate and lead a high performance management team.
  • Provide mentoring as a cornerstone to the management career development program.
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company and risk/underwriting departments.
  • Represent the company with clients, investors, and business partners.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • BS in Accounting or Finance, MBA and/or CPA preferred.
  • 10
    – 15 years of direct experience in the field, preferably in merchant services or banking industry.
