Chief of Staff

This is an exciting opportunity to see and learn HR from the top of the organization. The Chief of Staff to the CHRO will partner closely with their leadership team on both HR projects as well as tactical execution of the HR agenda. You will work closely with the HR Leadership team, setting agendas for leadership meetings and driving for decisions when appropriate to ensure key initiatives advance.

This role provides overall support for enterprise HR programs based on a deep understanding of the global HR strategy. You must have the ability to think strategically at a global level and effectively develop key processes, procedures, and communications that facilitate planning and execution across HR functions. The role will be responsible for supporting the CHRO in preparation of all forums, coordinating initiatives and organizing CHRO agenda to ensure readiness across all HR priorities. The Chief of Staff will plan, organize and facilitate strategic planning process to develop long-range HR plans and lead several large-scale HR initiatives directly.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in leadership/management role, management consulting, corporate strategy and/or executive management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; an MBA or other advanced degree in HR preferred.
  • Experience with project & business management.  Proven track record leading and executing projects in a complex organization working on several diverse projects simultaneously across multiple internal stakeholders under tight deadlines.
  • Experience working directly for C-level executives and building strong, collaborative relationships with executive stakeholders.
  • Analytical and strategic mindset with ability to simplify complex information and data quickly.
  • Strong written communication skills (e.g. experience with board / CEO level presentations, memos, and talking points).
  • Strong analytical, financial acumen and communication skills with the ability to influence across non-direct reporting teams.  Ability to translate ideas into clear, high impact communications.
  • Attention to detail, strong strategic execution.

Impact You’ll Make:

  • Directly and proactively support the CHRO on all deliverables and engagements, including preparation of materials, talking points, and briefing material for all forums.  Develops or liaises to create CHRO communications supporting message priorities for internal and external communications.
  • Develop presentations and materials for CHRO Communications– synthesizing/summarizing information from across HR Functions to provide critical information to executive leadership, including monthly HR updates to the CEO and Leadership Team. Leverage data to create actionable insights that drive decision making and communicate the story clearly and concisely.
  • Support HR Leadership Team meetings inclusive of agenda development, action item follow up and driving for decisions when necessary. Work closely with HRLT to help drive agenda and ensure optimal flow of internal discussions/communications across HR functions and help foster collaboration globally. 
  • Attend HRLT weekly calls and CHRO Staff Meeting half day, once a month.  Prepare meeting agenda by gathering input from CHRO and HRLT as well as HR stakeholders (Finance, Legal, Internal Comms, and HRIS), send agenda and materials in advance to HTLT team, facilitate meeting, capture key notes for CHRO for follow-up.
  • Coordinate the HR Strategic Planning Process including translating the 3 year plan in to annual goals and developing a process and cadence to cascade the information across HR.
  • Manage HR project portfolio on behalf of the HR Leadership Team, compiling regular updates and progress reports.  Sets up quarterly HR COE updates, coordinating communications/connections across COEs to help facilitate more collaboration across HR functions.
  • Support the CHRO with their priorities and deadlines, ensuring they are briefed on key issues and deliverables.  Directly leads 3 -4 major HR initiatives annually (HR Transformation, HR Scorecard, HR 3YP, Annual HR Leadership Forum,  etc)
  • Serve as the CHRO’s proxy at meetings as needed with key stakeholders (Finance, Internal Communications, HRIS, etc.)  and deliver progress reports.  Maintain HR budget, participate in forecast meetings and support the accrual process.
