Certified Nursing Assistant, Job, Full-Time, Part-Time, and Weekend-Only

Misericordia Heart of Mercy is hiring Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) for high acuity residents to work full-time, part-time, or weekend-only shifts for the Chicago campus.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you will have the opportunity to make a difference in peoples’ lives by providing care to residents with profound developmental or intellectual disabilities. CNAs will carefully supervise and assist residents with daily tasks including but not limited to bathing, toileting, feeding as well as ensuring residents attend therapy, schooling, and recreational activities.

CNA Responsibilities:

  • Provide total care for residents including bathing, feeding, changing, and repositioning
  • Assist residents with schooling, work programs, therapy, and recreational activities
  • Ensure cleanliness of residents, bedrooms, common spaces, and equipment
  • Responsible for residents throughout the day to ensure safety
  • Closely engage with residents to become familiar with their needs
  • Act as the voice for residents who are unable to advocate their own needs

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successfully complete the Misericordia one-week CNA Orientation Training Class
  • Hold current and active CNA license in the State of Illinois or provide test date of future certification.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Successful clearance of background check, physical and drug screen
  • Able to lift 40 pounds, unassisted
  • We are requiring all employees to be fully vaccinated by the first day of hire for the safety and well-being of our residents and staff. This requires proof of Covid-19 vaccination with at least 2 weeks post the 2nd vaccination dose by start date.

CNA Schedule:

  • Full-time, part-time, relief, and weekend-only shifts available
  • Day shift: 6am-2pm
  • Evening shift: 2pm-10pm
  • Overnight shift: 10pm-6am
  • Some weekends and holidays required

Salary:

  • High school diploma/GED:
    1. AM shift: $17/hr
    2. AM weekend shift: $19/hr
    3. PM/Overnight Shift: $18.50/hr
    4. PM/Overnight Weekend Shift: $20/hr
  • Four-year degree:
    1. AM shift: $18/hr
    2. AM weekend shift: $20/hr
    3. PM/Overnight Shift: $19.50/hr
    4. PM/Overnight Weekend Shift: $21/hr
