KBR is seeking a Centrifuge and Research Altitude Chamber (RAC) Operator to work with a team of military, scientists, engineers, physicians, and other researchers in carrying out research and training in support of the 711 HPW Centrifuge & Research Altitude Chambers. The research is in support of the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine, Department of Aeromedical Research. The incumbent will provide professional and technical expertise to perform operation of the equipment in support of the following duties. Essential Duties: * Running daily startup/shutdown checks to ensure accuracy and safety of equipment and personnel
* Perform all operational positions of both Centrifuge and Altitude chambers
* Performing Gondola and chamber configuration changes
* Ensuring proper personnel are present for day’s activities depending on mission
* Ensure rider/subjects are properly suited and integrated into equipment correctly
* Ensure preventative maintenance and recurring inspections are scheduled and coordinated with appropriate personnel to minimize downtime
* Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and by using precision measuring and testing instruments
* Assists with removal/installs/adjustments of functional parts of devices and control instruments
* Assist with the setup, reconfiguration, and disassembly of test apparatus
* Be an active Emergency Response Team member to assist with first aid/extraction of test subjects when required
* Assist with Air Force human use protocols Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Physiology, Human Factors, or a related field of study
* 2 + years of related experience with Centrifuge and Altitude chamber operations
* In lieu of formal education 10 + years of related experience
* Experience in physiology and/or human performance Skills/Training: * Experience supporting military research and development
* Experience with Microsoft Office Products
