PURPOSE STATEMENT The primary role of this position is to leverage consumer, shopper, and trade insights to build customerrelationships and drive sales and profits for Rich Products and our customers and Rich Products.
This person will be responsible for analyzing consumer, and category data along with promotional performance results into actionable strategies and tactics for our key customers.
The goal is supporting Rich’s Consumer Brands Division(CBD) in becoming a thought-leading solution provider that creates value and eventually becomes the supplier ofchoice for all Rich’s Consumer Brands categories.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES CUSTOMER / CONSUMER INSIGHTS
– Assist in developing and bring insights to the organization and customers in the areas of consumer and shopper behavior, and trade performance.
– Develop and distribute category and consumer analyses including sales, distribution, merchandising,assortment, shelving, pricing, promotion, trends, rankings, and forecasts by brand, item, etc.
to support the achievement of sales and marketing objectives.
– Develop and share in-depth knowledge of the industry, shoppers and shopper marketing, competitors, and retail customers.
– Provide guidance to key retailers to strategically manage space.
– Serve as liaison expert for the Sales team on research projects with vendor partners.
– Support Sales team optimize broker insight capabilities to bring more category and consumer knowledge to our customers SYNDICATED DATA SUPPORT
– Create and maintain syndicated data reports for use by internal Sales and Marketing teams and external broker teams to analyze and improve Consumer Brands Division business.
– Create and maintain syndicated tool product groupings to best view Rich Products items.
– Assist in reporting for Governance meetings and presentations as requested.
– Prepare and publishing periodic sales trends based on available Point of Sale from retailer/syndicated data.
– Assist Category Manager in managing relationships with our syndicated vendors to maximize the use of these partnerships.
– Be a liaison between Sales and Marketing to gain alignment around the structure and elements of syndicated data CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
– Partner with Sales to elevate key customer relationships through the development and communication off act-based insights presentations.
– Partner with Sales to construct Business / Category Reviews for key accounts.
– Collaborate with Sales and Marketing in the development of new item sell-in presentations.
– Support Sales in recommending account specific support programs that drive category growth and build key customer relationships.
– Support Sales with reports and KPIs to communicate key trends with customers.
– Support Sales with broker management helping focus this resource to drive Rich’s and customer growth.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
– Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing desired or equivalent combination of education and experience.
– 3 years of consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry experience highly preferred.
– Previous Sales and Marketing experience a plus.
– Proficient systems knowledge and experience with syndicated point of sale (POS) and household panel data (AC Nielsen / IRI / Spectra preferred), retailer specific scanner and/or loyalty card data, or other proprietary datasources.
– Proven technical excellence in Microsoft Office Productivity tools (Word, advanced Excel, PowerPoint)
– Proven ability to interpret and draw relevant and actionable insights from various research resources and methodologies.
– Experience in analyzing and representing large, complex data sets via visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau) aplus.
– Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with key account Sales team(s) and Marketing to understand customer and consumer needs.
– Solid communication skills to include verbal and written capabilities; strong presentation ability.
– Excellent project management skills.
– Strong problem-solving skills.
