According to Experian, in 2017 alone 14 million credit card numbers and 158 million social security numbers were exposed.
Increasingly, this type of activity is carried out by sophisticated international criminal organizations, who are constantly innovating and using the latest technologies to commit these crimes.
Here on the Fraud Foundation Team, we counter their efforts with real-time, automated, and intelligent technology of our own.
Our mission is to unleash our analysts, data scientists, and investigators by making fighting fraud effortless and continuously more powerful.
We do that by building consumer-grade, associate-facing products and platforms to automate fraud detection and associated actions, democratize access and understanding of our data, and enable new ways of discovering and extinguishing fraud rings.
A critical part of that system is our Card Fraud Response System, which coordinates and executes the various actions we take to contain fraud, such as sending a text message alert or restricting an account to prevent additional spending, among others.
This product manager will partner with business intent, operations, and technology to determine which features are essential and work with an engineering team to advance the platform and drive value.
What you’ll do:Drive roadmap and delivery, to enable our vision of real-time, intelligent authentication experiences at every relevant customer touchpointRefine the vision, and execute accordinglyWork closely with a team of engineers and business partners to identify customer experience, technical, and operational needs and align on shared prioritiesSpend 10-15% of time with investigators, analysts, front-line agents, and fraud intent/strategy leaders to deeply understand their workflow, pain points, and key opportunities to expand fraud coverage, and then incorporate the resulting understanding into the product vision and roadmapDefine and drive monitoring of platform healthTechnologies your engineering team would be working with include our Streaming Data Platform, Spark, Kubernetes, and microservice architecture, among others What youll bring:A drive toward action and a proven track record of delivering minimum viable products to market at rapid speedAn understanding of and reverence for data and technical productsExcellent communication skills to navigate a matrixed organization, tell compelling stories with ease to senior executives, and inspire teams about things that should exist that dont yetAbility to proactively identify impediments on the critical path and remove themA structured problem-solving approach to help a team work through a wide range of issuesIntellectual curiosity for emerging technologies and engineering challengesAbility to prioritize across different types of value dimensionsAbility to actively seek out multiple opinions, yet make independent decisions and influence positive outcomesAbility to keep the crowd warmed up while the team fixes the broken demo Basic Qualifications:Bachelors degree or military experienceAt least 1 year of experience in product management, business analysis, data science, or software engineering Preferred Qualifications:1+ years of experience managing products from inception to production2+ years of experience in shipping product1+ years of experience in platform management, software development, data technologies or AWS At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.No agencies please.
