Job Summary:

The position of Buyer is responsible for the procurement of materials used by the business. The position is primarily focused on sourcing and ordering materials for the corporation as well as maintaining correct inventories at the business locations.

What you will be doing:

• Research and suggest vendors.
• Initiate quotation process for materials.
• Analyze quotes and make recommendations regarding purchase.
• Determine appropriate sources of supply and maintain cooperative working relationships with vendors.
• Review purchase orders.
• Provide guidance and support to project managers and Accounting in relation to asset construction.
• Maintain and identify economic order quantities to manage inventory costs.
• Review approved parts list with Operations to maintain active parts and obsolete those no longer necessary. Support the disposition of obsolete equipment.
• Ensure the timely reconciliation of general ledger purchase order liability and inventory accounts.
• Provide analysis reports, as requested, to upper management.
• Analyze daily procedures and provide suggestions for process improvement and efficiency.

What You Need For This Position:

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience
• Working understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Understand and can perform Vlookup and Pivot tables in Excel
• Knowledge in the following areas is a plus but not all required
• Practical experience in identifying, researching and resolving transactional accounting discrepancies.
• Knowledge of the Oracle E-Business Suite desirable
• Six Sigma preferred
• Mandarin language skills desirable
