Overview of Role
The Business Development Professional will create and build client relationships while sponsoring interaction to obtain projects.
This role assists in developing and facilitating the proposal process for specific clients.
The Business Development Professional should have the ability to identify opportunities within a project that will add value and help successfully accomplish the client’s desired project outcome.
Essential Functions
Ensures office outcome and client expectations
Be active in the business development functions of the organization, which will require travel, participation in and preparation of presentations to build business with potential clients and expanding on current clients
Researching organizations and individuals to identify new leads and potential new markets
Development of proposals for clients
Work closely with Office Director and provide status reports when necessary
Establish and maintain on-going client relationships with the various parties to anticipate and resolve potential problems.
Participate in site visits.
Build strong relationships with customers, outside business contacts, and company stakeholders
Review and communicate proposals and cost estimates to customers and stakeholders
Collaborate with Corporate Marketing and Business Development to improve overall customer experience and satisfaction
Contributes to team performance by collaboration and effective communication.
Contributes to and understands the clients desired project outcomes, identifies opportunities to add value to accomplish the desired outcomes.
Adds to team effort by accomplishing other duties as assigned.
The Business Development Professional demonstrates a positive proactive approach to the role, and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results.
• Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Engineering, Construction, or Architecture
• Minimum Experience required: 5-7 years’ marketing/sales/business development experience
• Skills Required: Understanding of construction industry; proficient in Microsoft Office; articulate; excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to travel; quickly learn and understand current and potential clients’ businesses and develop relationships with those clients; dependability and strong work ethic with a passion for success.
Experience in planning, organizing, communicating and directing staff to achieve goals.
Required to read and understand technical and non-technical documents related to marketing, fee proposals and contracts for the section’s services and the ability to interface with both clients and staff.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
• Indoor office environment.
Occasional travel may be required for training purposes or undertaking office visits
• Equipment used includes: computers and standard office machines
• Essential physical tasks include: the ability to work on a computer and the ability to answer and speak on a telephone
