This position actively participates as a key cross-functional team member on new product development projects with a focus on design for manufacturability and the design, development, implementation and validation of manufacturing processes, test methods and equipment.
Responsibilities: Design, develop, implements and validate manufacturing processes for new products Conduct regular project meetings and reviews with cross-functional team members to track project status and effectively follow up on action items Communicate with cross-functional team members and suppliers to understand and determine product process and equipment specifications Document process development including manufacturing procedures, protocols and reports Manage the manufacturing site selection process based on the evaluation of internal manufacturing sites, suppliers and contract manufacturers Develop and maintain budgets for developing manufacturing processes and equipment Participate as a subject matter expert and/or lead design and technology transfers to manufacturing Maintain a broad knowledge of product design, manufacture and assembly techniques Estimate resource requirements, workload assignment, production times for manufacturing processes Required Qualifications: Minimum of BS degree in Engineering, scientific or technical discipline.
Minimum of five years engineering experience with process development and validation Experienced in a regulated manufacturing environment and process validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) Working knowledge of DOE and other statistical methods Strong written, communication, and interpersonal skills Experienced in leading cross functional teams and project management Preferred Qualifications: 6-sigma and/or LEAN manufacturing certification Experienced in design and technology transfers Proficient with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Project Experience in injection molding and the assembly of medical devices Engineering experience in combination medical device manufacturing Becton, Dickinson and Company is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
