Job Title Senior Business Analyst – CPQ Location Palo Alto CA Duration Long Term Description Finance organization is leading a cross-functional effort to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of pricing and discounting activities on a global basis. A Strategy and Value Management (SVM) Initiative, set up to drive these efforts and reporting to the Finance leadership team, requires a Senior Business Analyst to support the Strategy and Value Management team on the design, planning, and coordination of activities for an on-going CPQ system and process program (CI- CPQ). Responsibilities Specifically, for CI-CPQ, and from the perspective of Pricing and Discounting objectives, the Senior Business Analyst (BSA) acts as liaison between IT and business functions, to help build solutions that facilitate operate more effectively and efficiently. Solution focus areas include improving the deal qualification and discount guidance working with the DVM, Sales, Partner, Pricing, IT, Deal Management, and Finance organizations. Candidate will drive the identification, implementation, and modification of business systems to meet user needs and comply with company standards and guidelines. In addition, the Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for Work cross-functionally to analyze the pricing and discount methodologies, in alignment with sales methodologies. Design and document transformation efforts across Finance, Pricing, Operations, Sales, and Product Management to streamline the complete end to end CPQ process, and particularly pricing and discounting metrics and guidelines. Perform gap analysis as-is vs to-be. Document business requirements, process flow diagrams, and business cases. Execute sophisticated analyses to identify and investigate trends that drive operational performance of business transformations using statistics, and decision analysis linking operational, commercial, and technological elements to CPQ performance. Ensure analyses are reliable and interpretation drives actionable insights. Communicate complex information in an easy-to-understand format. Able to partner comfortably with the cross functional leadership. Represent CI-CPQrsquos Price Track in efforts to significantly redesign business process and policy responsible for coordination of finance workstreams, requirement gathering with Finance Stakeholders, and coordination with IT technical development teams. Requirements The Senior Business Systems Analyst should have practical experience across business functions (Sales Operations, Sales Enablement, Sales and PartnerChannel Management, Deal Management) in a high technology company in the Fortune 500. The Senior Business Systems Analyst should have Bachelorrsquos Degree in Engineering and MBA (or equivalent) required. 8+ years of experience in Finance or Financial system roles supporting go-to-market areas (e.g. Sales Finance, Deal Desk, Pricing, etc.) with a strong record of career progression. 5+ years of recent experience working for High Technology companies in the Fortune 500 (with prior experience in software companies being a major plus). Familiarity with a High Technology companyrsquos opportunity, deal, and order management systems, with proven exposure to pricing, deal negotiation, and sales support. Proven experience participating in the implementation of a financial, CPQ or order management system, including strong understanding of their architecture, is required. Familiarity with pricing principles, business models, and route-to-market concepts. Must be able to manage multiple priorities and complex tasks in a dynamic work environment Experience in hands on design, prototyping, development, configurations, testing and other implementation activities Experience performing detailed gap analysis, and preparing as-is amp to-be process documentation Experience preparing end-user documentation and conducting end-user training. Expert-level proficiency in Excel and SQL as well as solid experience with Oracle Business Suite SAP HANA, SFDC, CPQ packages, and large datasets is required. Highly analytical and process-oriented mind with strong quantitative abilities and a solid strategic sense. Superb verbal and written communication able to distill and present complex financial, operational, and organizational analyses into action-oriented recommendations. Excellent organizational skills along with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Inventive, open-minded, with willingness to grow.
