Job Title: Associate Scientist II Location: North Chicago, IL 60064 Duration: 6 months Role & Responsibilities: [Job Description] A conscientious scientist who will make substantial contributions to the conception and execution of multi-disciplinary biology research in fibrotic diseases within a highly collaborative team environment.
Primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will include cell culture, biology assays (qPCR, ELISA, Western Blot, etc.), data analysis and report generation.
Experience with primary human fibroblast culture based models, drug molecule testing, and flow cytometry would be great to have for this position.
Working closely with his/her supervisor and teammates this scientist will schedule and prioritize workload to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and identify / utilize resources outside of own group.
Excellent communication skills and ability to present data clearly and thoroughly in both one-on-one and group meetings.
The candidate must be willing to work as part of a multidisciplinary research team in an exciting, fast-paced environment under the mentorship of a supervisor.
Qualifications: BS or MS in Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Pharmacology, Immunology, or a related field Essential lab skills include cell culture and basic biology assays/analyses (qPCR, ELISA, Western Blot) Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong oral and written communications skills Good teamwork and inter-personal skills Key Competencies: Builds strong relationships with supervisors, group members, and other stakeholders to enable higher performance.
