– Boston.
Responsibilities Participates in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the SON
– Boston.
Works cooperatively with the Boston-based Academic Operations Manager to coordinate and manage day-to-day issues within the SON
– Boston.
Ensures compliance with CCNE and other accreditation standards, and the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing (MBORN) regulations Provides onsite guidance, mentoring, leadership and professional role modeling to faculty; assists faculty in their growth and development as teachers Conducts periodic studies to determine program viability, trends, and success; conducts formative and summative assessments of student/stakeholder feedback on SON
– BSN.
Assumes responsibility for the evaluation of all programs/courses and faculty engaged in teaching within the SON
– Boston.
Collaborates with the Dean to develop and implement an annual plan for teaching workload responsibilities within the SON
– Boston.
Engages in implementing strategic initiatives, including new innovative programs, curricular revisions and enrollment targets Provides consultation to the Dean on a regular basis regarding program strength/weaknesses; student feedback; faculty concerns/issues; student concerns/issues; enrollment, etc.
Recruits, interviews, and recommends prospective core and adjunct faculty and staff; evaluate faculty performance.
Administers university procedures and work rules, and promotes professional development.
Evaluates Boston based faculty and staff.
Advises and counsels students.
Mediates problems between students and faculty and among the faculty.
Develops, coordinates and maintains relationships with internal and external constituencies.
Assists the Dean in preparing, recommending and administering the SON budget.
Teaches assigned courses serving as course faculty or course coordinator.
Additional Responsibilities: Participates on the SON Academic Standing Committee.
Recommends short and long range operational and strategic plans for the nursing program, and related policies/procedures to the school Dean.
Recommends curricular nursing program development, innovations, modifications, and revisions to the Dean or Director of Curriculum and Teaching.
Collects and maintains data which supports the University’s long-term strategic plan as well as the AACN accreditation standards.
Participates in select committees within the shared governance model of the School of Nursing.
Assists the Dean and others in the SON leadership group in evaluating overall SON program outcomes.
Participates in University events such as new/transfer student/parent recruitment and orientation sessions.
Demonstrates judgment, planning, organization, effective problem solving, initiative and creativity in dealing with a variety of situations involving the day-to-day and semester calendar challenges.
Assists the School Dean with preparing and submitting required reports.
Reviews all course reports and works with faculty in the spirit of continuous quality improvement.
Collaborates within the SON as well as with schools/programs across the university in providing innovative inter-professional education to SON
– Boston students.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Dean.
Qualifications Required: A Ph.D.
or equivalent doctorate with a M.S.
in Nursing.
Applicants meeting the criteria of Associate Professor/ Professor enrolled in a doctoral program will be considered.
Current license or eligibility to practice nursing in Massachusetts Excellent organizational skills Strong interpersonal skills A Ph.D.
