Job Title Assistant Professor, Graphic DesignDepartment School of the ArtsEssential FunctionsThe University of Nebraska at Omaha, School of the Arts, Art and Art History program invites application for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Graphic Design.

The ideal candidate will be able to prepare students for both traditional graphic design and emerging digital technologies including but not limited to web and social media design, motion graphics and animation.We seek a candidate with a strong professional record, previous teaching experience at the university level, and a commitment to teaching undergraduates of diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities include teaching all levels of design coursework; academic advising for students within the graphic design concentration; and engaging in service activities of an urban metropolitan university.

Additional responsibilities may include supervision of undergraduate research (a capstone/thesis is required of graphic design concentration students in both the BASA and BFA degree), internships and collaborative opportunities with the Book Arts and Illustration concentrations.

A typical semester course workload at UNO is 12 hours.

All candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a creative professional as well as strong evidence of senior-level contribution to their practice (i.e., candidates should have professional experience as a designer, art director, creative director or principal).
