Responsibilities:
As the Team Leader – Assembly, you will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight to 1st shift assembly team.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist, direct, guide, train and check the work of an assigned group of employees in any assembly activity.
- Maintain authorized schedules and keep the supervisor or manager advised of any and all situations which could adversely affect the operation.
- Planning and assigning work to ensure operations are being performed to quality, quantity, cost, safety and delivery standards. An example is to work with employees on issues to improve productivity, such as laying out work space, tools and materials. Machine and individual capabilities must be considered in the assignment of duties.
- Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to proper supervision.
- Lead and coordinate activities related to line balancing.
- Lead training for all new and current team members
- Communicate teams’ goals and achievement of safety, quality, production and morale items.
- Lead team in continuous improvement projects to meet goals in downtime, scrap, and other initiatives that impact team’s performance.
- Encourage team’s participation in suggestion system. Lead resolution of suggestions arising in their area.
- Drive improvements in quality through the utilization of the appropriate WCM tool.
- Lead activities which proactively improve methods and standards to guarantee quality.
- Provide input to supervisor(s) and manager on employee participation and overall job performance.
- Perform direct hands-on work and move materials as necessary in the performance of duties.
- Responsible for safety, teamwork, accuracy, inventory control duties as required, total quality, employee involvement and cost reductions.
- Maintain necessary records.
- Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations. Complete safety audits, conduct risk assessments and lead safety improvements.
- Participation in the Team Leader Training Program and other WCM activities
- Ensure visual management standards are maintained and improved.
- Assist with development of standardized work (SOS’s) for all processes within team.
- May perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
The qualified candidate will have the following:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3 or more years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, Excel, Word, Outlook
- Meet physical requirements of the position including the ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
The preferred candidate will have experience with the following:
Good communication skills both verbally and written.
A strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Strong organizational and planning abilities.
Ability to work in a team setting.
Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel experience.
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
