POSITION PURPOSE: Perform timely and accurate tax filings for the U.S.
Focus is on Corporate Income Tax filings both Federal and States but knowledge about international tax is beneficial.MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:This position plays a key role in the Tax Department and will be responsible for both Federal and State income tax in the U.S., reporting requirements and tax planningPrepare/Review federal and state income tax returns for all PHC entities in the U.S to include Epredia 66%, Ascensia 22%, and PHC-NA 12%.Prepare federal and state estimated tax payments, state apportionment, and tax extensionsManage transfer pricing topics including but not limited to, setting-up price per article, annual review for the company profit margin, and prepare the local transfer pricing filesPrepare the tax calculation pursuant to IFRS for the U.S entities and support on tax consolidationRespond to various government tax agency notices and requestsAssist with domestic tax audits mainly in the area of Income Tax.
Prepare responses to taxing authority inquiries; model potential settlementsSupport Finance Manager in Canada and South America regarding GST/VATManage tax software and supervise implementation of new features and updates, review procurement process and stay up to date on tax law changesParticipate and assist with ongoing tax department projects and tasks such as audits, tax credits and incentives, tax transactions, exemption certificates etc.QUALIFICATIONS:BA/BS in Taxation, Accounting, Finance or related field required.
Master degree is plus5 plus years of relevant experience including some in either corporate tax department, or similar tax related experienceStrong interpersonal skills and effective communicator (oral and written communication skills)Experience with web-based tax research services such as RIA Checkpoint, and OneSource Income tax is requiredProblem solver, ability to work independently and suggest process improvements when applicableSAP /NETSUITE Experience preferredMicrosoft Excel proficiency a must
