We are looking for an engineer who will be directly responsible for the development and deployment of instrumentation systems for sensors and transducers on Apple’s products.
This engineer will work closely with the validation and design groups throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase to ensure the success of current and future Apple products.Key QualificationsProfessional experience designing, debugging and working with sensors or electromechanical systemsWorking knowledge of sensors (optical, force, pressure, acoustic, or motion sensors)Familiarity programming in one or more of the following: C/C++/Objective-CAdditional SkillsThe following skills are not necessary for consideration, but will be considered a plus.Knowledge of EE fundamentals, circuit analysis, & circuit debugExperience in the electronics manufacturing industryExperience plotting and processing data in JMP/MATLAB/Python/etcAbility to apply innovative simple solutions to complex problemsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDescriptionSpecification, development, and verification of calibration and test systems for use for validation during NPI and test during mass production.
Specific responsibilities will be tuned to match the candidate’s technical background, but responsibilities may include: Specifying and designing an application-specific instrumentation system Working with our mechanical team to specify and validate the required mechanical fixturing & automation systems Driving system bring-up and qualification at vendors and contract manufacturers during NPI builds (usually in Asia) Analyzing system data to drive the next level of performance in both the instrumentation and the product Performing failure mode root cause analysis and resolution, including debug tracking from system to component levelEducation & ExperienceBS, MS inEngineering or related discipline.
