The Analytics and Data Science team within DNV – Energy Systems develops software and tooling to accelerate the energy transition by improving the delivery of energy efficiency, demand response, storage, and renewable technology.

Think strategically and apply skills in data engineering, data visualization, and software development to implement full stack data solutions.u202fThis position can be remote from anywhere in the Continental U.S. (except Colorado).u202f

What You’ll Do

  • Create and maintain products that deliver insight through data visualizations to enable users to understand concepts, identify patterns, and take action to exceed client targets 
  • Develop data pipelines to extract, transform, and clean data using Python and SQL
  • Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to solve business challenges 
  • Train users in operation of analytical tools, including Power BI dashboards 
  • Meet with stakeholders to write user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Embrace continuous integration and continuous delivery to add features quickly while maintaining solution stability

Position Qualifications

What We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree, coding bootcamp,or similar work experience 
    • Concentration in an analytical discipline such as Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or Computer Science is strongly preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience with Python
  • Experience with Pandas, Numpy, and Scikit-learn preferred
  • At least 1year of experience with SQL 
  • At least 1 year of experience using business analytics tools
  • Experience with Power BI preferred 
  • A strong communicator — you don’t just focus on producing statistical outputs and charts, you can also explain what they mean and their implications
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple deliverables, and remaining flexible
  • Strong written and verbal English language communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 15% of the time
  • Most importantly, this individual should display a positive, team-oriented attitude to match our friendly work environment
  • We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening.

  • Experience with Git/GitHub
  • Experience with JIRA
  • Experience with PySpark/Scala/Databricks
  • Experience with D3.js
  • Experience with Django/Flask
