The Cvent Corporate Development team works closely with the CEO and the Executive Team to define the strategic direction of the company, lead deep-dive analysis on critical “needle-moving” topics, lead M&A execution, and manage communication with the Board of Directors.
This is a small, nimble team with high visibility in the company and direct ownership and accountability of topics.
The Analyst, Corporate Development & Strategy will lead specific deep-dives and critical analysis on a project basis to help the company achieve its strategic objectives.
What You Will Be Doing:
Function as team member in a variety of strategy and corporate development projects, including emerging business opportunities, acquisitions, joint ventures, minority investments, etc.
Support Corporate Development efforts through all phases, including project management, idea generation, vetting, valuation, due diligence, transaction documentation, closure, integration and post-closing reporting
Lead / support analysis in key strategic topics (examples of work include customer and internal interviews, data analysis, meeting facilitation, third party research)
Research multiple sources for company, industry and market information, including benchmarks or interviewing customers or prospects
Provide actionable strategy recommendations based on your analysis
Present findings to senior management and assist in preparing documentation for Board of Directors
Support business units with strategy development and execution
Map out the strategic landscape in various sectors thoroughly
Support the financial and strategic evaluation of corporate development opportunities
Analyze company financial statements, organizational design and basic technology stacks
Conduct strategic fit and business opportunity analysis, and competitive landscape assessments
Serve as key team member for all phases of M&A discussions
What You Need for This Position:
Bachelor’s degree required with proven history of high achievement
MBA Preferred
Minimum 3 years of experience working in a consulting role with a leading Management Consulting firm, with an emphasis on the software space.
Strong analytical capabilities and previous experience developing data-driven analyses
Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to produce clear reports and presentations.
Interest and / or previous experience in software and technology industries a plus
Highly analytical
Highly collaborative – Strong interpersonal skills, in particular the ability to develop strong cross-functional relationships, as evidenced by a track record of teamwork in cross-functional teams
Communication – possesses strong writing and verbal presentation skills
Strong financial, analytical and valuation skills, including extensive financial modeling experience with Microsoft Excel
Prepare analysis around expected costs and benefits of any prospective deal – both direct and indirect
Has a sense of humor and a willingness to have fun in the workplace
