We are growing and are actively seeking a Senior Principal, Federal Leader in Alaska with extensive multidisciplinary public sector and infrastructure experience. This senior level professional will use their industry knowledge, client and partner relationships, and expertise as Stantec’s federal lead representing all services lines and business markets for Stantec’s federal programs in Alaska. Markets include environmental services, facilities and infrastructure, power and energy, and water.
Your Key Responsibilities
The Senior Principal, Alaska Federal Business Leader, will be the senior industry representative for Stantec’s Federal practice in Alaska.
Specific responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Lead and represent all services lines for Stantec’s federal programs in Alaska. Leadership includes strategic planning and growth initiatives, major capture of growth opportunities, recruiting and hiring, and managing delivery with our market sectors.
Grow our Alaska Federal Operations with a primary focus on DoD client and Civilian agency accounts. Clients include the USACE, USAF, Department of Interior, NOAA, National Science Foundation, Department of Homeland Security, USCG, Department of Agriculture, etc.
Operate as the USACE District and USAF local account manager interfacing with the Stantec national account leads. Will also serve as the Stantec contract program manager on federal contracts.
Manage, lead, and mentor our Alaska federal team supporting and collaborating with all markets and business lines.
Lead, supported by our Alaska Team, the operational selling of our existing contracts.
Assist with the Stantec national federal growth strategy.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Demonstrated success winning and delivering Federal programs and projects.
Strong knowledge of and existing relationships within the USACE Alaska District, PACAF/AFCEC Pacific and Alaska and other US government civilian agencies.
Strong business development skills, including significant experience building and maintaining effective client relationships and teaming partnerships.
Strong project management skills, with experience in organizing, planning, and executing projects from pursuit through closeout, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors.
Strong operational background with delivering projects in Alaska in challenging logistics and climatic conditions.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to successfully manage and grow a multidisciplinary workforce.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) as well as interpersonal and presentation skills.
An appreciation for the level of quality our clients expect including demonstrated successful experience in client service management.
An entrepreneurial orientation with strong understanding of the business development challenges of a consulting-services provider as well as challenges presented by the Alaska market.
Experience operating within a collaborative environment of highly skilled professionals including internal networking across a large enterprise as well as demonstrated experience building and developing successful external relationships.
Experience working and networking with Alaska small businesses, local villages, and Alaska Native Corporations and their regional structure.
Experience managing large design-build projects is a plus.
Active involvement in professional affiliations is a plus.

Education and Experience
Minimum of fifteen (15) years’ relevant experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, sciences or related field, master’s degree is a plus
Registered professional license in Alaska
