ACC Mountain West: Lead Excavator Operator – Pipe Division

ACC Mountain West is is looking for an Experienced Excavator Operator to join our underground utility team.Position Summary: This position will support a pipe crew in the instillation of water, sewer, and storm pipe assuring it is done safely and accurately.

The ideal candidate considers the safety of their co-workers and the public, the care and condition of the equipment and the productivity of the team as we build the important infrastructure within our community.Responsibilities:
· Perform daily pre/post operating checks on equipment and report any malfunctions to the shop
· Assure all utility locates are valid and understood, complete excavation inspections and make sure all safety equipment is available prior to the shift.

Take steps to identify hazards and avoid conflicts with both above and below ground utilities.
· Understand trench safety, slope benching and trench shoring.

Performs regular inspections.
· Effectively communicate with the foreman and other crew members.
· Maintain proper knowledge of machine use and attachments.

Operate machine(s) daily in a safe and efficient manner
· Perform daily preventative maintenance on equipment (Check Fluids, Grease, and Clean)
· Firm knowledge of equipment operations and maintenance.
· Ensures equipment is in good working order, at all times.
· Secure the equipment and jobsite to prevent theft or injury.
· Maintain consistent communication among field crew members by use of hand-signals or radio to align and position heavy equipment properly.Qualifications:
· 5+ years proven experience with large excavators.
· Able to read and understand cut and fill stakes
· Ability to take direction from the Foreman and provide support to peers.
· Be reliable – showing up on time each shift.
· Must have flexibility to work nights and weekends
