2nd Shift Shipping Lead Person

VT Industries manufactures wood products including fine laminate countertops. We use highly automated processes for building kitchen and bath countertops. Job Duties: The Shipping Lead duties are under the general direction of the Shipping Supervisor. Pay Grade will be determined based on level of experience. Able to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos. Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form and able to write correspondence. Build skids, band skids, have joe and forklift license, run both wrappers. Create and read load maps, put together and process loads, load trucks. Process multiple types of shipments. Gather and process orders. Manage inventory and order supplies. Reduce transit damage. Strong communication skills. Ability to effectively deal with people on a one-on-one basis and as a team. Lead the team in an efficient manner. Desire to train and grow. Other duties may be assigned by supervisor. Requirements: CDL is required – Must be obtained within 90 days of accepting the position. Be at work 8 hours/day, 5 days a week with occasional mandatory overtime. Ability to be on your feet on cement the entire shift. Manually move a countertop with the assistance of a co-worker as required. Ability to work individually or with other employees as assigned acting responsibly and maintaining a positive work environment. Use personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses and hearing protection, as required. Able to lift 50 lbs. or more. Keep work area clean and organized. Observe all safety rules at all times. Participate in daily production meetings. Must be able to pass a Post-offer, Pre-employment drug screen and physical assessment. Must be 18 years of age or older. VTI offers a $1,000 new hire bonus, $1.10 shift pay differential plus $.50 differential for obtaining and retaining a CDL. Starting wage to be determined, based on skill level and experience.
