’22-’23 (REMOTE) VISTA Leader for Member Engagement (You must be an AmeriCorps or Peace Corps alum to apply.
100% Remote position, relocation not required.) Greater South Sound Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) connects organizations that lift people out of poverty with AmeriCorps members who want to make a difference.
We are based out of United Way of Thurston County, which is currently a fully remote organization due to COVID-19.
Any nonprofit, government agency, or educational institution in Thurston, Pierce, Clallam, Lewis, Mason, Jefferson, or Grays Harbor County can apply to host an AmeriCorps member.
Since 2015, our AmeriCorps Members have generated over four million dollars in cash and in-kind donations for their host organizations.
Current host sites include Big Brothers Big Sisters, other United Ways, food banks, a domestic violence agency, a nonprofit that helps develop local co-ops, and more Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.
Member Duties : As the remote Engagement VISTA Leader for Greater South Sound VISTA, you will develop strategies to ensure each AmeriCorps has a positive experience during their Year of Service.
You will be responsible for planning team meetings, offering peer support to members, creating engaging digital communications to reach members, building partnerships with other AmeriCorps teams, compiling member data, and more.
Comprehensive training will be provided, and you will have ample opportunities for professional networking with local nonprofit organizations and government agencies.
