nn nn Scope of Work: nn nnThe Vehicle Equipment Mechanic is responsible for coordinating service activities utilizing a computer-based software program to maintain service records, conduct preventative maintenance, and conduct minor onsite repairs of all equipment accessories.nn nn Responsibilities: nn Coordinates and maintains service activities.
Performs various preventative maintenance and minor repairs to dump trucks, water trucks, tractors, skid steers, salt spreaders, snowplows, backhoes, track hoes, generators, ATV’s and other equipment as needed.
The incumbent should have the ability to manage service records, coordinate maintenance activities, and complete preventative maintenance activities for the above-mentioned equipment.
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
nn Minimum Requirements:nn Must have practical working experience with a variety of vehicles, equipment, and generators.
Must be able to understand written and oral instructions to perform the required tasks.
Must have a basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Prior experience with MAXIMO is a plus.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
Electrical Generator Systems Certification or formal generator training is preferred however demonstrated experience can be substituted in lieu of certification or formal training.
OSHA 10 Hour or 30 Hour training is advantageous.
Must be able be able to conduct preventative maintenance activities and minor repairs from ladders or elevated platforms.
Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in small areas or uncomfortable positions.
Must be able to frequently lift, carry, and set up equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
Must be able to occasionally lift and carry items weighing over 50 pounds.
Must be comfortable getting dirty, dusty, and greasy in an indoor or outdoor environment with frequent exposure to inclement weather conditions.
