Your Role:

The Maintenance Technician 3 at MilliporeSigma is responsible for maintaining and installing equipment, facilities, and utility systems. This is a multi-skilled position that completes work orders that cross over traditional disciplines. In addition, you will provide leadership, expertise, and training to other department members. This is a 1st shift position with possibility of moving to 2nd shift after training. Possibillity of begining established at SAFC locations in either Madison or Verona, WI. The Maintenance Technician will also operate company vehicles.

  • Troubleshooting instrumentation (flow, level, pressure, temperature, etc.).
  • Troubleshooting and repairing heating equipment and systems as well as air conditioning equipment and chillers.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing ventilation equipment (air handlers, exhaust systems, etc.).
  • Troubleshooting, designing, installing, and maintaining electrical power and control circuits up to 480 V.
  • Using calibration equipment to calibrate or test all types of instrumentation.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing production mechanical equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing fluid and vacuum pumps.
  • Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on boilers.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic control systems.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic power systems.
  • Troubleshooting and replacing mechanical seals and bearings.

Physical Attributes:

  • Lifting 50 or more pounds unassisted
  • Climbing up and down ladders
  • Bending, lifting, and/or twisting.

Who You Are:

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of machinery and/or facilities maintenance experience
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to troubleshoot and correct VFD and/or PLC problems.
  • Ability to use CMMS software
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair analytical equipment/instrumentation.
  • Understanding of and ability to use building management systems
  • Ability to fabricate or repair parts using machining tools (lathe, mill, shear, brake press).
