Stanley, Black and Decker: Chemical Process Technician

MF1930: Chemical Process Technician *Position Responsibilities:* * Have or develop an expertise with industrial production processes relating to aluminum, steel, stainless steel, copper part degreasing, polishing, passivation, anodizing, and electroplating.

* Have or develop an expertise with the chemical lifecycle of industrial cleaners, surfactants, and passivation compounds from application through disposal.

* Assist in developing tests to validate the operational efficacy of chemical immersion processes.

* Develop reactive and proactive protocols to ensure consistent deposition of protective surface processes.

* Examine and implement chemical treatment programs to maintain or recover operational chemistry.

* Verify composition of waste liquids and solids to ensure compliance with applicable waste disposal regulations.

* Explore and suggest alternative chemical treatments that are more consistent, cost effective, and/or more environmentally sustainable.

* Ability to devise and implement measurement and testing protocols * Establish protocols to ensure the safety of positional and downstream equipment operators relating to interactions with chemicals, chemical reactions, and chemical applications.

* Adhere to, and establish protocols in compliance with, OSHA standards.

* Research and evaluate current processes to identify problem areas and propose possible solutions.

* Identify manufacturing problems, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.

* Complete work improvement projects by training and guiding operators and supervisors.

* Work closely with other departments including manufacturing, sales, marketing, quality control and other engineering departments.

* Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and support sustainment efforts of new/improved processes; Contribute to cost savings plans set up by corporate initiatives.

* Support plant policies, goals, standards, values, and strategic planning; responsible for adhering to the Environmental Policy as well as supporting the procedures and work instructions maintained within the Environmental Management System.
