Northrop Grumman Space Systems is searching for Sr.

Staff Engineer Structural Analysis to join the Launch Vehicle business unit in Chandler, AZ.A Sr.

Staff level engineer is considered a subject matter expert in the field of structural mechanics.Individual will work closely with all personnel levels and is expected to be a leader and innovator serving as an advisor and spokesperson in the field of Structural Mechanics and its related disciplines.A Senior Staff Structural Analyst level engineer is expected to be an expert with significant technical expertise and full knowledge of application of principles, theories, and concepts related to structural analysis.

  • Provides technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems under no appreciable supervision
  • Leads and guides teams and individuals to develop an approach to solve difficult structural analysis problems.
  • Ability to develop new concepts, approaches, and technology
  • Produces technical engineering documentation such as analysis reports, test procedures, and engineering design review presentations
  • Acts as an advisor and spokesperson for multiple advanced programs
  • Willingness to mentor and develop workforce
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Finite Element Analysis experience
  • Maintains a balance of technical, schedule, cost, and resources in order to meet overall company objectives

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires 20+ Years with Bachelors in Science; 18+ Years with Masters; 15+ Years with PhD.
  • US citizenship is required
  • Ability to obtain an Active Secret Security Clearance is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • NASTRAN / FEMAP finite element software is highly desired
  • Composite experience is highly desired
  • Programming experience (Python, VBA, Matlab)
  • Active Secret Security Clearance is highly desired

Salary Range: 134400
– 201600

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.

Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
