Service Technician – Compressors

Acara Solutions is hiring a Service Technician for our client in the Houston, TX area! This is a direct hire opportunity with a salary range of 50-60k depending on , to get compressors and ancillary equipment ready for future delivery to a new customer and for the startup at customer’s (5-7) days per :-Correct installation of the rental compressor at site.-Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the field installation and repair requirements-Be able to travel immediately to all job sites when requested to do so. Must maintain active passport for international travel.-Provide technical advice and be able to train customers, potential customers, field salesmen and field trainees-Installing GPS System on compressors and monitoring the field rental(s)-Offer proper written and oral communication skills to transfer highly technical information related to service work in concise and logical manner.-Submit accurate, detailed expense account records and timecards suitable for billing customers in a clear and accurate manner. Maintain good financial records and practices to manage company business matters, credit cards and if required, a company car-Maintain proper business travel practices in a cost-efficient manner-Follow all company and departmental guidelines-Perform other duties as required-The technician must have the ability to make root failure cause analysis-Vibration expertise in turbo machinery is a plus-Working with 250 hp – 1500 hp oil-free centrifugal compressors, 25 hp – 200 hp rotary screw compressors, Booster Compressors, Desiccant and Refrigeration Dryers-Must be able to handle customer relations in a crisis situation to maintain good customer relationship-Must have safe work habits as many startup conditions are in potentially hazardous job sites.Required Skills / Qualifications:-Two years of mechanical technology schooling and/or sufficient mechanical working experiencePreferred Skills / Qualifications:-Mechanically inclined-Experience with centrifugal compressors-Experience with rotating equipment such as air compressors-Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems-Previous travel experience is desired-Training program is required before the candidate will be sent to job site alone-Not afraid to work weekends, long hours or long periods away from home-Speaking knowledge of English required and second language of Spanish a plusAleron companies (Acara Solutions, Aleron Shared Resources, Broadleaf Results, Lume Strategies, TalentRise, Viaduct, and Aleron’s strategic partner, SDI) are Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employers.
