Senior Maintenance Technician

We have an immediate opportunity for a Senior Maintenance Technician

Position Summary:

This position performs day to day maintenance and upkeep on all facilities, grounds and equipment. The primary role is to support the production areas and keep all equipment in safe and good working order. Responsible for assisting in training new associates including all safety, production, quality and administrative functions.  It is critical for the overall success of this position to demonstrate professionalism, integrity, honesty, empowerment, and teamwork to achieve expected results. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Performs day to day maintenance as directed by the Maintenance & Facilities Supervisor.
• Conducts proactive and preventative care maintenance by identifying issues before concerns or breakdowns occur.
• Records and documents all related repairs and parts issues as needed.
• Reviews current assets and determines reliability and or performance concerns for attention.
• Must be able to perform duties in a work order based system.
• Maintains all regulatory compliance related to facilities grounds and equipment.
• Assists in facilities maintenance as needed.
• Communicates daily to with the Maintenance & Facility Supervisor for the on-time completion of all assigned work and projects; communication of potential issues and concerns with projects. 
• Completes the following safety requirements:
• Ensure consistent application, compliance and enforcement of written safety rules and procedures.
• Intervene whenever unsafe conditions and unsafe acts are observed and reinforce safe behavior when observed.
• Respond and follow up on employee safety concerns.
• Ensure required safety inspections are completed.
• Ensure associates have been trained on the job they are assigned.
• Provide necessary tools and equipment to accomplish tasks without injury.
• Participates in Weekly Safety Tool Box Talks.

Performs Duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Education & Experience:

An associates degree in Maintenance or at least 3-5 years experience in a maintenance role or manufacturing environment is required.  Familiarity with welding and fabricating equipment coupled with Hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC’s is a plus.

The successful candidate must demonstrate ability to deal with multiple priorities and deadlines, and the ability to work effectively in a changing work environment.   High level of initiative, strong problem solving skills, good judgment, and a demonstrated ability to deal appropriately with mechanical and electrical information as required.

Knowledge skills and abilities necessary for this overall success of this position:  Experience with 480 volt 3 phase motors and equipment and low voltage controls is required, able to use a multi-meter to troubleshoot problems.  Knowledge of operating a forklift and other material handling equipment is a plus.
