Krier Foods has an exciting opportunity to join our high-performing Sanitation team on third shift. In this critical role as Sanitation Technician. This person will be integral ensuring safe and proper sanitation is completed throughout all processing and production equipment and the plant. Reporting to the Sanitation Manager, this person will be part of a team responsible for sterilization (CIP) in the production room, blend room, completing work orders and other projects on time and according to work instructions. Responsibilities:
- Operate within safety and quality standards, good manufacturing practices (GMP’s), and adherence to job specifications, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure proper PPE is utilized.
- Responsible for reading, comprehending the job standards, meeting the quality standards and specifications for sanitation (chemical concentrations, time & temperature, cleaning times, flow rate, etc.)
- The sanitation Technician will monitor the C.I.P. operation to ensure that the cleaning was completed to the specifications and documented.
- The technician will communicate effectively with Management in regards to equipment issues, Food Safety issues, quality issues, safety issues, and sanitation not meeting requirements.
- Assist in inventory of chemicals, cleaning supplies, and parts required.
- Inspect sanitation work and follow up as appropriate to ensure that all operating and sanitation standards have been met to ensure a safe and effective on-time start of production and processing equipment.
- Delivers and meets expectations and results set for the position.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1-2 years previous sanitation experience preferred; with experience in Food and Beverage industry preferred.
- Required to fully comply with Quality Management System Policies and Procedures and Food Safety Management requirements.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Must be able to effectively communicate, read and comprehend instructions and procedures in English.
- Ability to prioritize workload and accommodate shifts in daily priorities based on the needs of the business.
- Ability to demonstrate high attention to detail.
- Ability to demonstrate a high sense of urgency and be proactive in addressing problems as they arise.
- Ability to calculate and understand basic math and simple formulas including but not limited to: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and averages.
- Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, cultivating a culture of trust, accountability, collaboration and teamwork.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, sitting, twisting, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and climbing), perform repetitive motions for an extended period of time (up to 2-3 hours) and be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, general labor, etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e. inspection, etc.)
- Ability to work in various conditions with exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust and fumes.
Work Environment:
- Lab and food manufacturing plant working environment.
- The noise level in the lab is moderate. While in the plant, hearing protection is required.
- When located in the plant, the environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), moderate cold and hot temperature (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to raw food ingredients (including allergens) and chemicals.
- Due to food and safety regulations, wearing of hairnets, bump cap and steel-toed or composite toed shoes are required at all times while in the plant. Additional PPE, including but not limited to goggles and gloves, will be required based on the ingredients and chemicals being utilized at the time.
