Residential Technician

Maggie House

This is a Contract position in Charleston, AR posted January 22, 2022.

Must be 21 years of age or older.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Hiring for:

6am-6pm Friday- Sunday

6pm- 6am Friday- Sunday

2pm-10pm Monday-Friday

The position of Residential Tech provides stability and the framework needed for the residents to receive proper instruction and training. The Residential Tech strives to build relationships with the residents and support other staff to serve the children. The Residential Tech reports to the Administrator.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess a minimum of a high school education or GED. Additional education is preferred
  • One (1) year experience working with youth recommended
  • Must relate to youth on a fair, firm and consistent basis
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be 21 or older (if under 25 driving record checked every 6 months otherwise every year)
  • Must subscribe to the agency’s mission statement, organizational values and organizational beliefs.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities of the Residential Tech include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment to youth in care.
  • Teach all components of skill development curriculum to youth in care.
  • Prepare a balanced USDA approved nutritional meal or snack when necessary
  • Maintain physical upkeep of Maggie House property and campus
  • Administer medications in accordance with agency procedure
  • Maintain communicative relationship with resident’s case manager at FWBFM.
  • Fulfill requirements as directed by Human Resources Department
  • Training
  • Personnel file documentation (legal, medical, etc)
  • Any other information as requested
  • Conduct performance evaluations as outlined in employee handbook.
  • Conduct pre-service, on the job, and ongoing training as required.
  • Provide a proper role model for residents.
  • Maintain positive and professional interactions and relationship with residents, agency personnel and the public.
  • Be a good will ambassador for the agency and its residents.
  • Ensure provision of resident transportation to all medical, clinical, recreation, treatment and social activities.
  • Fully comply with administrative and Program Service policy and procedure and personnel practices manual.
  • Report all events as required by the serious incident reporting procedure.
  • Serve as an advocate for the resident.
  • Complete and submit maintenance requests as needed.
  • Provide line of sight supervision to residents.
  • Maintain security of agency vehicles, cottage, and other agency property, including keys.
  • Develop and oversee resident participation in daily treatment schedule and cottage routine.
  • Serve as a mentor for the emotional and spiritual development of residents.

SECONDARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve on committees as requested.
  • Attend scheduled meetings, i.e., house parent/residential tech meeting, full staff meeting, etc.
  • Keep required training current.
  • Perform other job duties as required.

  • CPR Certification (Preferred)
