Position Requirements:
Associate degree and
one or more years of progressively responsible experience in a clinical laboratory.
or documented equivalent education and training incl.
three or more years of progressively responsible experience in a clinical laboratory.
(Clinical internship may be equivalent to experience.) Good customer service skills.
Ability to interact effectively and communicate proficiently.
Good problem resolution skills.
Not Applicable Exposure to infectious biological specimen and sharps are experienced on occasion.
Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when appropriate.
Must be able to handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
Work requires the analytical ability to gather and interpret data.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Ability to lift 10 pounds occasionally.
Purpose:
To triage and process patient specimens in a timely and accurate manner for individual laboratory testing and referred testing (both intra~ and extra system) in accordance with department policies and procedures, regulatory and safety standards and good laboratory practice To perform limited lab analysis in all clinical and AP areas, in a manner technically appropriate, according to approved departmental policies and procedures To use a customer focused approach with internal and external customers in regard to all supportive activities in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, including registration, billing, troubleshooting, customer response and in resolving order and billing errors.
Accountabilities:
Performs limited routine laboratory test analyses and resulting of outside reference laboratory resulting.
