Job Description

• Perform diversified clinical patient care, technical and related duties within radiography and computed tomography as part of an interdisciplinary care team.
• Responsible for each assigned patient, perform patient assessments and correlate clinical findings with exam/procedure request
• Obtain pertinent information from patient’s chart and document all data within the EHR
• Educate patient for exam
• Position patient and select appropriate imaging equipment and supplies
• Identify, prepare and/or administer pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure.
• Select technical factors/ parameters/sequences to produce quality images
• Properly identify anatomy and evaluate images for technical quality
• apply the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patients, self and others and aware of MR safety practices
• Assist physicians in performing procedures
• Provide functional or technical supervision of radiology aides ( imaging assistants), other assigned non-technical employees and other practitioners, as applicable
• Provide supervision and instruction to assigned affiliating students
• Assist with ongoing quality assurance activities as assigned

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology and attainment of primary certification within one year of eligibility and post-primary certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Computed Tomography, RT ( CT).
• (Post-primary certification in the advanced practice discipline of CT is required for RT’s within one year of eligibility and/or per RT licensure in MA or RI)
  Current RT licensure in the Commonwealth of MA
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required
• Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism when interacting with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff members.
