BVS has an immediate opening for a full-time Quality Control Technician.
This position works 8:00 AM 5:00 PM Monday
– Friday in our climate-controlled Ellsworth, Iowa facility.
This position will assist with all measures of quality and quality assurance in BVS manufacturing.

Responsibilities include:
Assist with the development and maintenance with applicable Feed Safety Policies and related Standard Operating Procedures for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Feed/Safe Food (SFSF) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
Assist with the coordinating of scheduled HACCP meetings and quarterly review of QMS and all Standard Operating Procedures
Monitor, update and maintain versions of quality documents, procedures, work instructions, forms, raw material specifications, packaging, in-process products and finished products
Distributes updated documents to appropriate personnel across all company locations, where applicable
Assist in tracking the effectiveness of programs including standards, training and quality documentation and strive for continuous improvements
Collaborate with 3rd party vendors to conduct analysis on distributed and raw material product to align with HACCP and SFSF initiatives.
Assist in research, analysis and system configuration for produced and distributed products to ensure restricted use products are in compliance with state and local jurisdictions.
Conduct periodic audits on production floor relating to product setup of ingredients, packaging materials and finished goods
Reviews item and formulation setup in the system ensuring accuracy
Develops AFFCO and GHS content for product labels to send to marketing, review final label revision for validation approval
Coordinates and develops product Safety Data Sheets for all new and existing products
Complete QC inspection during the course and at the end of each batch run which includes final review and sampling of product, ensuring proper allocation and completeness of batch in the system and releasing the product to the warehouse
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations including OSHA, USDA, and FDA
Responsible for creating an atmosphere that promotes employee involvement while communicating regularly with all employees keeping them abreast of our Company values and goals
Manage relationships with partners and vendors
Cross trained in other areas of production and warehousing providing assistance as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications:
2-5 plus years of experience with food, food ingredient or feed production and external food safety audits such as (HACCP, SFSF, GMP)
Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner, and listen attentively to others, understands material, and provide instructions to all team members
Adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment
Ability to analyze and solve problems involving several options with limited information
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form and to work independently
Demonstrate ability to work well under pressure with a proactive approach to unusual occurrences
Occasional overnight travel maybe required for training and meetings
Must be able to repeatedly lift over 50lbs and become forklift certified
