Quality Assurance Technician (3rd Shift)

Responsibilities

  1. Assumes personal responsibility to insure safe and healthy workplace for everyone.

    Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and, incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.

  2. Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained.

    Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.

  3. Perform periodic in process quality checks: physical and chemical lab testing, coding, weight, packaging integrity, labeling, temperature, sensory, document review etc.

    to verify compliance with costumer and MFI’s specifications and all others associated regulations for all products.

  4. Inspect and sample incoming ingredients to summit for internal lab testing as required.
  5. Assist in drafting, revision, and maintenance of plant standard operating procedures.
  6. Act as a liaison between Production, Distribution, Sanitation, Maintenance, and the Quality Department.
  7. Participate in plant food safety/quality inspections, in-process inspections, mock recall, label audits, HACCP audits.
  8. Verify proper set-up of production lines at start-up and shift change: Printer set-up (coding), packaging materials, labeling, quality limits, etc.
  9. Review sanitary condition of production lines prior to start-up by verifying fillers sterilization limits, performing ATP (adenosine triphosphate / verify surface cleanliness) and environmental swab, and follow up sanitation procedures after downtime requiring maintenance activity.
  10. Communicate quality issues with Production and Quality Management and assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions where appropriate.
  11. Perform investigative environmental swabbing of critical production equipment/areas as a troubleshooting guide
  12. Assist in investigations in response to customer concerns or other quality related deviations to determine root cause and appropriate corrective actions.
  13. Assist in the management of quality hold activities, including non-conforming product inventories.
  14. Ensure lab equipment, fridges and thermometer etc.

    are properly maintained and calibrated.

  15. Maintain and follow MFI micro sample and shelf life study programs.
  16. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GLP/ GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained.

    Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.

  17. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.
