QA Technician

Title: QA Technician

Location: Sealy, TX

Duration: Contract to hire

Schedule: 2nd Shift Mon-Thurs 2 PM- Midnight

Target Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Organize areas for testing and test sample storage.
• Manage all laboratory related supplies ensuring proper storage and maintaining adequate inventory levels.
• Listen to and follow work requirements as instructed.
• Perform hands on lab work with cement, sands, dry powders, and a variety of liquids. Accurately test laboratory, production, and competitive samples per mixing and test instructions
• Prepare lab scale formulas per recipe. Mix and cast samples per appropriate standards (ASTM, ACI and company procedures).
• Communicate quality-problems to plant management. Analyzing, identifying and communicating problematic trends, e.g. recurring first pass issues.
• Together with plant management, communicate major quality issues to the production floor to increase quality awareness.
• Work on projects with minimum supervision.
• Keep accurate records of test results.
• Prepare reports or memos on assigned tasks or projects.
• Maintain lab equipment in good operating conditions.
• Follow ASTM, ACI and other internal test standards.
• Attend all company provided training programs
• Complete all additional tasks and projects as assigned by plant management.

Requirements:

• Min HS Diploma w/ Quality Assurance or Testing Experience
• AS/TTP Recent grads okay
• Concrete Experience Preferred
• Good computer skills- can easily train if candidate can use Excel
• English written/verbal communication skills
