Prototype Technician

Description
Position Purpose:
Develop programs and parameters for production processes including robotic systems; fabricating and machining systems; tooling design, assembly and rebuild; and development support. Identify and implement improvements in the manufacturing processes, including training associates in the correct methods and developing their systems skills.
Essential Functions:
1. Fabrication, robotic and manual welding of prototypes, test samples, and production.
2. Develop robotic welding programs and parameters for new prototypes and production.
3. Maintain welding equipment and processes.
4. Perform routine maintenance on welders, robots, and other manufacturing equipment and tools.
5. Organize, and help maintain supplies required for fabricating, and welding of prototypes.
6. Assist in the development of quality systems for new products and processes.
7. Document and maintain records of processes used to create prototype or development samples.
8. Conduct welding training for new hires and development of Prototype Associates.
9. Identify and maintain a 5-S atmosphere.

Qualifications
Education and Training:
%26bull; Minimum of 2-5 years of professional experience and/or technical degree a plus.
%26bull; High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum Qualifications:
%26bull; Robotics programming experience required.
%26bull; Certified Welding Inspector highly desired.
%26bull; Excellent demonstrated mechanical ability required.
%26bull; Welding and fabrication required.
%26bull; Ability to read blueprints required.
%26bull; Machining, brake press, laser operations a plus.
Physical Demands:
%26bull; Frequent standing, walking
%26bull; Occasional lifting heavy objects
%26bull; Occasional sitting, driving forklift

Environmental Conditions:
%26bull; Exposure to manufacturing setting, including welding and hearing protection areas.
%26bull; Exposure to forklift traffic.
