Responsible for achieving skills to operate, troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on extruders, milling equipment and seasoning equipment to ensure continuous and efficient operation. Assist with R&D projects. Assists with Continuous improvement projects.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES â¢Performs tasks as instructed and works shifts as assigned by supervision. â¢Operates, trouble shoots and performs routine maintenance on Extruders, Milling equipment and seasoning equipment. â¢Prepares and loads raw material for use in extruders, milling and seasoning according to standard operating procedures. â¢Monitors equipment operation and makes adjustments to ensure product quality. â¢Performs all tasks required to ensure cleaning standards are met. Includes disassembly, assembly, and cleaning of the equipment. â¢Assists process employees as needed to ensure efficient operation of the production process including providing relief for breaks and lunches. â¢Coordinates with Shift Lead and Shift Manager to ensure efficient operation of the production process. Reports all quality and maintenance issues to affected departments and management. â¢Coordinate’s activities of Processing Room employees, as needed, to ensure efficient operation of the production process. â¢Responsible for training employees in operation of processing machines and other production processes by conducting on the job training and classroom training. â¢Maintains all required written documentation related to production and quality. â¢Attends and participates in all Company required training. â¢Assist Research and Development with projects. â¢Assists with Continuous Improvement projects. â¢Responsible for attending and participating in assigned training sessions related to GMPs, SOPs, HACCP and SQF; applying and demonstrating obtained knowledge and following all procedures and policies related to food safety. â¢Responsible for keeping work area safe and clean. â¢Adheres to all personal safety and food safety guidelines for jobs performed. â¢Performs related duties as assigned by supervision. â¢Responsible for meeting all quality, sanitation, and production standards.PHYSICAL DEMANDS â¢Occasionally required to lift and pull up to 50 pounds. â¢Occasionally required to carry items up to 50 pounds. â¢Required to work while standing for periods up to 2 hours. â¢Regularly required to bend, reach, pull, stoop, kneel, climb, and reach. â¢Required to climb ladders and stairs. â¢Required to work in plant environment. â¢Perform medium to heavy duty work tasks. QUALIFICATIONS â¢Ability to proficiently operate extruder, milling equipment and other food processing equipment. â¢Ability to train new operator. â¢Ability to use various hand tools- powered and non-powered to perform routine maintenance. â¢Ability to operate powered industrial truck and bulk material handling equipment. â¢Ability to obtain forklift certification for OSHA requirements. â¢Ability to use Excel, Word and Outlook proficiently. â¢Ability to communicate, write legibly, and speak in English. â¢Ability to perform each essential function satisfactory.PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT â¢Safety eyewear and hearing protection is required. â¢Protective clothing, hair net and gloves are required. â¢Respirator and other PPE may be required based on tasks being performed.
