Position Description:

The Extrusion Lab Engineer Tech position will be responsible for and has the authority for setting up, bottle processing, and operation of automated blow molding and injection molding machines, making necessary adjustments and/or mechanical repairs to the machines and auxiliary equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

Performs & Monitors necessary setting adjustments such as parison programming, heat controls, cooling water temperatures, pressures and functioning of extruder and hydraulic pumping units. Performs quality control checks and helps maintain customer requirements according to specification in bottle weights and various dimensions such as wall thickness, flash, plastic distribution, concavity, convexity or crooked sections. Makes adjustments to correct and/or eliminate defects. Performs preventative maintenance on machines and auxiliary equipment as assigned. Maintains various production and quality reports. Observes all local and Company safety policies and procedures as well as housekeeping requirements. The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable to all state and federal laws.

Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in an Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Technology or equivalent; or, multiple years related experience and/or training. Mechanically inclined as verifiable by transcripts, references, testing, or other approved methods. Must possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Must possess strong verbal and communications skills. Must have flexibility of job assignments. Strong computer skills. Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
