Job Description
RESPONSIBLE FOR WORKING IN A SAFE AND ORDERLY MANNER WHILE IN THE PLANT ON THE PLANT PROPERTY.
VISUALLY INSPECTS AND TESTS MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT.
LISTENS FOR UNUSUAL SOUNDS AND VIEWS MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT TO DETECT MALFUNCTIONS AND DISCUSSES MACHINE OPERATION VARIATIONS WITH SUPERVISORS OR OTHER MAINTENANCE WORKERS TO DIAGNOSE PROBLEM OR REPAIR MACHINE.
DISMANTLES DEFECTIVE MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT AND INSTALLS NEW OR REPAIRED PARTS.
CLEANS AND LUBRICATES SHAFTS, BEARINGS, GEARS, AND OTHER PARTS OF MACHINERY.
REPAIRS AND MAINTAINS PHYSICAL STRUCTURE OF ESTABLISHMENT.
LAYS OUT, ASSEMBLES, INSTALLS, AND MAINTAINS PIPE SYSTEMS AND RELATED STEAM AND REFRIGERATION, HYDRAULIC AND PNEUMATIC EQUIPMENT, AND REPAIRS AND REPLACES GAUGES, VALVES, PRESSURE REGULATORS, AND RELATED EQUIPMENT.
OPERATES CUTTING TORCH OR WELDING EQUIPMENT TO CUT OR JOIN METAL PARTS.
SETS UP AND OPERATES MACHINE TOOLS SUCH AS LATHE, MILL, GRINDER, AND DRILLS, TO REPAIR OR FABRICATE MACHINE PARTS, JIGS, FIXTURES AND TOOLS.
MUST HAVE WORKED AS MAINTENANCE I FOR A SPECIFIC PERIOD OF TIME AS OUTLINED IN THE MAINTENANCE II REQUIREMENTS OUTLINE BEFORE HAVING THE ABILITY TO TEST.
PERFORMS OTHERS AS ASSIGNED.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS;
TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY, AN INDIVIDUAL MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM EACH ESSENTIAL DUTY SATISFACTORILY. THE REQUIREMENTS LISTED BELOW ARE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND/OR ABILITY REQUIRED. EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:
ONE YEAR CERTIFICATE FROM COLLEGE OR TECHNICAL SCHOOL; OR THREE TO SIX MONTHS RELATED EXPERIENCE AND / OR TRAINING; OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE.
THIS POSITION REQUIRES ADVANCE KNOWLEDGE OF THE FACTORY EQUIPMENT. THIS INDIVIDUAL MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF ONE YEAR EXPERIENCE IN A MAINTENANCE POSITION, MUST HAVE THEIR OWN SET OF HAND TOOLS (ON GOOD QUALITY, LIST AVAIL UPON REQUEST), AND MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WITH A MINIMUM OF SUPERVISION. MUST ALSO DEMONSTRATE THE ABILITY TO MAINTAIN THE LEVEL OF PERFORMANCE.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
ABILITY TO READ AND INTERPRET DOCUMENTS SUCH AS SAFETY RULES, OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS, AND PROCEDURE MANUALS. ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY WITH SUPERVISORS AND PEERS.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
ABILITY TO ADD SUBTRACT, MULTIPLY, AND DIVIDE IN ALL UNITS OF MEASURE USING WHOLE NUMBERS.
REASONING ABILITY:
ABILITY TO SOLVE PRACTICAL PROBLEMS AND DEAL WITH A VARIETY OF CONCRETE VARIABLES IN SITUATIONS WHERE ONLY LIMITED STANDARDIZATION EXISTS. ABILITY TO INTERPRET A VARIETY OF INSTRUCTIONS FURNISHED IN WRITTEN, ORAL, DIAGRAM, OR SCHEDULE FORM.
