Mobility Technician

SOVAH Health - Martinsville

This is a Contract position in Martinsville, VA posted December 23, 2021.

The Mobility Technician is responsible for assisting clinical staff and members of the interprofessional healthcare team, as assigned, under the direct supervision of clinical staff within inpatient setting. This position performs delegated activities that include but are not limited to patient mobility, and functional activities, transporting patients to and from treatment areas and a variety of basic clerical functions.  The Mobility Technician provides possesses the ability to exercise safe judgement, and delivers exceptional patient care per guidelines established by the department to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service.
 

Minimum Education
High School diploma or equivalent

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Requires ability to read and write legibly and carry out direction promptly and accurately. Must exhibit effective communication skills and interpersonal skills. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Requires the ability to respond quickly and calmly under stressful or emergency situations.

Typical Physical Demands: Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients and/or equipment, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. May require lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. May require bending, squatting, and kneeling. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids

Required Skills

Certification
American Heart Association BLS Provider required.

Minimum Work Experience
Previous experience in patient care setting desirable. Requirements will include successful completion of orientation program and competency requirements.
