Pay is dependent upon experience and qualifications. Starting pay for entry level is as follows for each of the Tech Tiers:

Set Up/Assembly: $18.00

Small Engine & Power Equipment: $20.00

Diesel Truck & Heavy Equipment (Tractor Mechanic): $22.00

Higher wages available for individuals with a higher degree of experience and proven skill set.

SUMMARY FOR EACH TECH TIER:

Set Up/Assembly Essential Functions

· Using a variety of hand and power tools assembles tractors, lawn and garden equipment and other commercial equipment according to specifications.

· Uncrates component subassemblies and implements according to Work Order using hand and power tools.

· Performs Safety and Operational checks on assembled units. Repairs items out of tolerance.

· 1-3 years use of hand and power tools. Familiarity with auto, marine or RV mechanics.

Small Engine & Power Equipment Essential Functions:

· Assembles, Diagnoses and Repairs a wide variety of commercial & residential Lawn and Garden equipment as specified on work orders and other approved repairs by using manuals and attained specialized knowledge.

· Performs Safety and Operational checks on assembled units. Repairs items out of tolerance.

· 1-3 years auto, marine, or comparable mechanical experience. Voc. Ed. Program, or training preferred. ASE or other cert. preferred.

Diesel Truck & Heavy Equipment (Tractor Mechanic) Essential Function:

· Assembles, Diagnoses and Repairs a variety of diesel powered commercial light and heavy equipment as specified on work orders and other approved repairs by using manuals and attained specialized knowledge.

· Performs Safety and Operational checks on assembled units. Repairs items out of tolerance.

· 3-5 years auto/truck, heavy equipment mechanical experience. Certification in Auto/Diesel mechanics, ASE and other applicable certifications.

Other Functions Applicable to All Position Levels Described Above:

· May pull own stock as required using forklift or pallets jacks.

· Communicates with service writers regarding status of units being assembled and/or repaired.

· Requisitions parts required for repairs and communications to service writer as needed.

· Completes all required paperwork and time recording.

· Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions: Interior service bay work involving lifting and moving objects with or without assistance. Work involves use of solvents, lubrications and engine fuel. Some noise from tools and engines. Some exterior stock retrieval and testing of units is required.
