Mechanic Assistant

Position Summary

The Mechanic will conduct troubleshooting,repairs, and preventive maintenance service on trucks and equipment at theshop.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essentialfunctions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Providing emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment as needed and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of trucks and equipment
• Preparing and setting up machinery for scheduled production runs
• Performing mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of trucks and equipment
• Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Complying with OSHA Safety and Health rules
• Performing other work-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Technical training; exposure to high-speed equipment
• Two or more years of related work experience

While performing theduties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanicalparts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk ofelectrical shock, and explosives. The noise level in the work environment isusually moderate. However, on some instances this job may require work in areaswhere ear and / or eye protection is necessary.
