Job Description Position Summary: Maintenance Technician will be responsible for providing maintenance support to the entire manufacturing facility to ensure quality and minimize production downtime.Key Activities: Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and coordinate efforts around process improvement. Working knowledge of basic elements of TPM and Good Manufacturing Practices in a manufacturing environment. Applies a wide variety of methods, procedures & techniques to layout, install, align, repair, overhaul, & maintain various types of machines encompassing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems & operation principles. Performs preventive maintenance on mechanical systems to include disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and calibration. Cleans, lubricates, and adjusts parts, equipment, and machinery. Examines parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear. Observes and tests the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices. Operates newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs Reads blueprints and manufacturers’ manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery. Demonstrates equipment functions and features to machine operators. Records repairs, maintenance, parts and materials used, orders or requisitions new parts and materials as necessary. Ensures the safety needs are given a top priority in operations support and work execution. Examples: Arc Flash/Shock Hazard safety, confined space entry, LOTO, hazardous materials, hand tool safe use, etc. Performs mechanical troubleshooting, repair of miscellaneous equipment, preventative maintenance. Every mechanic provides their own tools; a large rolling toolbox that locks with a comprehensive set of tools is required. Required Qualification: Minimum high school graduate or GED. Experience with food manufacturing, and in steam related equipment, Lean Manufacturing and HACCP desirable. Strong electrical knowledge and troubleshooting highly desired. Experience with pumps, piping, instrumentation equipment, welding, use of hoists, cranes, and fine measurement devices is a plus. Minimum 5 years’ maintenance experience preferably an industrial manufacturing environment. Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical devices, troubleshooting & repair, and safe work practices. Must be comfortable with the use of personal computers and proficient with Outlook and Excel.
