Maintenance Mechanic I

The Position:

Exotech is searching for a dynamic individual to become part of our maintenance team. As Exotech evolves into a larger company we need an efficient team member that has experience in repairs and maintenance with a variety of manufacturing and factory equipment (both light and heavy duty). We need someone who can become part of our growing company and have the vision to work with a team to develop and implement new procedures. This position has the primary responsibility for breakdown maintenance for all production areas.

Responsibilities:

· Diagnose problems and replace or repair parts as needed to keep plant equipment operating at maximize equipment uptime

· Perform preventive maintenance requirements on light and heavy production equipment (e.g., shears, crushers, saws, lathes, mills, and shredders) at prescribed intervals and document as required

· Improve the operational efficiency of plant equipment by proactively addressing potential issues before they create scrap or downtime

· Assist in the installation and testing of new manufacturing equipment

· Maintains tools, vehicles, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe condition

· Respond to equipment breakdowns and work to quickly resolve the problem to ensure the timely placement back into production

· Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations including wearing all Personal Protective Equipment and using tools and equipment according to proper safety requirements

· Work from prints, schematics, diagrams, or general instructions to diagnose and repair equipment

· Provide real time production support to various fluid processes that involve pumps, motors, and filters

· Communicate with maintenance vendors as needed

· Communicate with Director of Manufacturing Operations, supervisors, and other employees about status of equipment

· Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with precision accuracy

· Maintain an inventory of spare parts, supplies, and consumables

· Coordinate installation and repair activity with other members of the maintenance team as well outside subcontractors, as required

· Other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications:

· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related experience required Good mechanical ability

· Attention to detail, good problem-solving skills

· Basic computer skills

· Ability to embrace and support a Safety-first culture in words and actions

· Able to work overtime when necessary

· 2+ years of experience as an industrial mechanical or electrical maintenance technician; troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment within a manufacturing or industrial environment

· Hands on experience repairing and maintaining a variety of factory and manufacturing equipment (both light and heavy duty)

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and mechanical drawings

· Be able to work with other employees as a Team Player

· A demonstrated level of understanding that involves hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical dynamics is required

· Required to read and write English and follow verbal instructions, including drawings and OEM repair manuals and on-line resources

· Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment, be detailed oriented, and the ability to work independently

· Flexibility and self-motivation are required

· Forklift experience is preferred but not required
