RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow all Berry safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Follow OSHA rules and regulations
- Monitor quality of product; inspects bottles for defects, inspects boxes for damage and properly follows customer pack patterns
- Communicates and cooperates with other employees in a positive and constructive manner to achieve the Goals of the Department and the Plant.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines; wear protective clothing, long-sleeved shirt, jeans or slacks, hair net, latex gloves and practices good hygiene
- Willing and able to work overtime when needed
- Identify and report violations and unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel
- Effectively respond in an Emergency Situation such as Fire, and Accident and direct the activities of others
- Follow all Department Procedures and Directives
- Assist with building and programming on new and rebuilt equipment
- Follow mechanical and electrical prints
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment
- Apply progressive Continuous Improvement practices such as 6S, etc.
- Increase customer satisfaction by assisting production to reduce cost and lead-time while improving quality and service
- Provide support and guidance for Quality to develop procedures and work instructions for Corrective and Preventive Actions
- Develop Training resources to train and motivate employees in the use and implementation of electrical troubleshooting principles
- knowledge concerning all electrical principles, blue prints, AC and DC motor controls, VFDs and troubleshooting all electrical problems down to component level to make necessary repairs
- Provides timely repairs, upkeep and preventative maintenance
- Insures that adequate repair parts are stocked
- Uses MRO system for removing and returning parts from inventory
- Makes recommendations for equipment improvements
- Assists with set-ups, start-ups, and quality qualifications
- Strives for continuous improvement of equipment
- Serves as an example for housekeeping and safety standards;
- Insures that scheduled PMs are performed and recorded per the Service Work Order
- Responsible for entering all Work Order Requests into automated tracking system
- Responsible for accurate recordkeeping and reporting of Work Order Request information
- Responsible for trouble shooting molding process-making adjustments to the machine, auxiliary equipment, to produce quality parts
- Responsible for troubleshooting auxiliary equipment-making sure all equipment is functioning properly to produce quality parts.
- Visually inspect work areas, equipment safety guards, employees’ safety, assist with eliminating all safety hazards
- Reduce waste and drive best practices across the organization
- All other duties as asigned
Experience in industrial maintenance with skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC
Capable of fabrication and design
Proficient in the use of computers, especially in a work order tracking system and an MRO system
Able to use automated scanning equipment
Can trouble shoot and correct complex mechanical machine issues problems
Can verify air pressures by gauge, water temp by gauge, and water pressure by gauge
Can detect a water leak at the molds and nozzle and react correctly
Can detect an oil leak within a processing machine (shut-off nozzles, hydraulic line, rotary seal) and prevent product contamination
Can detect an air leak and identify general location (air line, blow mold obstruction, etc)
Working knowledge of material load system and troubleshooting problems with the load system;
Ability to work well in a team environment
Ability to provide guidance and leadership to peers and to production personnel;
3-5 years experience in a high speed assembly production environment as a Maintenance Mechanic
Mechanical aptitude-Strong mechanical aptitude.
This is a 12-hour night shift postion – working three nights one week and four nights the second week, in a two week pay period.
Week one: Monday, Tuesday, Friday & Saturday. 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Week two: Sunday, Wednesday & Thursday. 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
