Maintenance Mechanic – Connecticut Galvanizing

Since 1978, customers throughout the Northeast have relied upon the services of Connecticut Galvanizing, a family-owned business with a reputation for excellence in providing hot dip galvanizing.

Our galvanizing kettle is 30’6” long, 5’ wide and 7’6” deep, enabling us to treat materials up to 52’ long in a progressive dip.

We galvanize in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, CSA, MIL, and other specifications.

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Glastonbury, CT.

This is a full time position that requires 24 hour emergency on call availability.

The ideal candidate must have a strong knowledge of electrical systems and basic wiring and, the ability to make independent decisions with little to no supervision.

High school diploma or GED and five or more years experience in a similar maintenance environment
Welding, torch use, and mobile industrial equipment repair experience
Ability to handle hazardous materials in accordance with state and federal regulations
Ability to work at heights up to 30 ft
Ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others
Ability to receive OSHA and other job specific training as needed
